Public involvement and partnerships are essential components to the success of the Watershed Management Plan. Achieving the goals of the Management Plan depends on greater public awareness, local community actions and partnerships between governments, the public sector and the public. Objectives of the public participation program include increasing public awareness about watershed issues, obtaining public trust and support for the planning process, locating volunteers willing to work, and encouraging public responsibility for action. Public outreach will be directed on several levels, including a series of newsletters that will update the communities on a regular basis about the issues and ways the public can become involved in the planning process.
